THE THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE
What do we mean when we say there are three kinds of people? Male, Female and ? No not at all. We are speaking spiritually.
THE THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE ARE:
THE BELIEVER
THE UNBELIEVER
THE MAKE BELIEVER
THE ADMONITION: LOCATE YOURSELF
THE BELIEVER
We need to understand these three in order to make a proper assessment of who we are and where we are in our spiritual conviction and walk. First let us consider the believer. Why is it important?
Jesus said in Matt 7:21-23
21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
The question becomes who is a believer, what are the ear marks of the believer? and can I know if I am the genuine article. I always say to people “Christianity is Serious Business!”
You have undoubtedly been to one of the Major Christian meetings where multiplied thousands of people are attending and at the of the service many hundreds of people rush down to accept Jesus as their savior and are never seen again at any kind of Christian meeting or church gathering
The Crux of the matter is this: everybody wants a namby pamby forgiver, but nobody wants a Lord. They don’t know if you don’t have a Lord, you don’t have a Savior.
Salvation is not free, Salvation is freely given, but salvation cost Jesus Christ everything. It cost him his life by the shedding of his blood. The believer is bought with a price, he is no longer his own. If you are no longer your own, it means that you must have a Lord. Just as a landlord owns property and if you want to partake in the
benefits of his property you must pay him homage in the form of rent. The believer pays homage to Jesus Christ by accepting his Lordship.
Rom 10:9,10 The salvation confession is that of Jesus as Lord, not as savior.
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Luke 6:46-49 Who is it that is calling Jesus Lord, are the mere words enough.
46. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48. He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
The doer of the will of the Lord are those that are truly acknowledging him as Lord.
If we do our own thing and think we have a savior who are we kidding? certainly not the Lord, the one who knows and understands all.
WHAT IS THE MARK OF THE GENUINE BELIEVER?
I JOHN 1:6-7 The mark of the genuine believer is fellowship.
6. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
One that has fellowship with God cannot and will not walk in darkness. This does not mean they will never sin, but it does mean that sin will not become their lifestyle.
1 JOHN 2:3
3. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
THE UNBELIEVER
Everyone that has not acknowledged , confessed and surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is an unbeliever and as such will suffer the wrath of God and the indignity of a burning hell for ever and for ever and for ever, and that is just the beginning.
JOHN 14:6 GOD HAS PROVIDED A WAY OUT!
6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
PSALM 14:1 and 53;1 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God.
1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Notice the words “there is” is in italics which means they were added for emphasis and are not in the original text. In other words God tells us in his word, “I have provided the way of salvation through my Son Jesus Christ”, and the fool says “No God I refuse to believe it or accept it.” I am not calling that person a fool, God is.
What will the unbeliever suffer?
JOHN 3:36 Make your choice Part A or Part B - the choice is yours.
36. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth (weighs and rest) on him. (emphasis is mine.)
THE MAKE BELIEVER
The make believer is the worst case of all three conditions. Why? Because the make believer knows lots of scripture, sits in the congregation like a wolf in sheeps clothing, may even think that he or she is saved. The are self deceived.
An example of the make believer is that person that says “ I have accepted Jesus as my savior, but I’m still working on making him Lord.”
We must receive him as Lord which is what God has already declared him to be.
ACTS 2:36
36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
This is not optional, it is the crux of the matter remember Rom 10:9-10
9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It is my hope that you will locate yourself in one of the groups above and properly assess how you have decided to live your life, but know this, your decision has eternal consequences.
Please understand that if you are a believer and are struggling with a particular sin issue, I am not saying you are not saved. The very fact that you are concerned and are in the warfare and have not laid down and said O’ well it is not a sin, proves that you are in God’s army.
